Carpaccio for Valentine's Day
Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and you might be thinking about stopping off at the nearest convenience store and grabbing a bouquet of roses, chocolates, and a cheesy card for your significant other but before you get wrapped up in the cliché gifts, consider thinking outside the (chocolate) box this year. See what we did there? Here are some ideas to get you started.

Get Toasted!
We don’t mean the kind that involves alcohol but a bonfire! All it takes is a couple of blankets, a bench or even logs, s’mores, a Bluetooth speaker to play your favorite tunes (bonus points if you create your own playlist) and maybe some chilled champagne or wine. Bonfires are best after dinner so consider igniting one after you’ve had a delicious meal, and are ready for those s’mores. Here’s a list of uncommon s’mores that might change your life!

Tour
Every couple has a story, show your significant other how much you love them with a tour of all your favorite and meaningful places. Think of this as a personalized scavenger hunt, make it interactive and invite your significant other to choose places as well and you’ll both be surprised.

Thrift Store Fun
Head out to your nearest thrift or vintage store and buy outfits for each other. These can be silly and outrageous or well thought out considering each other’s style. The fun part about this date is you set the tone and limits. Afterward, step out in your new threads for dinner and dessert at Carpaccio!

Watch the Sunset
Nothing is quite as romantic as watching the sunset with your significant other. Head to Bedwell Bayfront Park before dinner at Carpaccio with chilled champagne and watch nature’s beauty unfold together. While it might be tempting to grab a selfie, consider enjoying the sunset the good old-fashioned way, without a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Live in the moment, take a break from the chaotic world and simply enjoy each other’s company.

These are just a few of the many ideas you can do to show your loved one how much they mean to you on Valentine’s Day.  If dinner is part of your special night and only Italian food can satisfy you, there’s one place you should be tonight. Come to Carpaccio at 1120 Crane Street in the heart of Menlo Park, or call to reserve your table at 650-322-1211.
